توضیحات اپیزود

You’re listening to Lingo Phoenix’s word of the day for February 7. Today’s word is priority, spelled p-r-i-o-r-i-t-y. Priority is a noun that means “something that is very important and needs attention before anything else.” Here’s the word used in a sentence: My first priority is to find somewhere to live. Here’s the word used in a sentence from the USA Today: Those districts have since moved on to the next high-priority group, consisting largely of residents who are at least 65 years old and those who are vulnerable because of health conditions. If you’ve guessed that priority is related to prior, I gotta tell you that your guess, in this case, is very accurate. According to Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, priority can mean “the quality or state of being prior,” and prior means “taking precedence (as in importance).” With your word of the day, I’m Mohammad Golpayegani. Visit our Instagram page @lingophoenix to learn how you can use today’s word in the IELTS speaking test.
