This story has been selected as a part of the annual anthology published by Sukirat Anand in his "Representative stories of 2024."About the author:Simran Dhaliwal's stories bring to life the struggles of modern middle-class. He is the writer of a new social reality. A professor by profession, he observes ambitions, dreams, doubts and complexities of human mind from up close to weave in his stories. His refreshing take on everyday happenings in his characters' lives makes him stand out among his contemporaries.So far, he has published 5 short-story collections titled, ਆਸ ਅਜੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਪਲ, ਘੋਰਕੰਡੇ. ਆ ਆਪਾਂ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਈਏ, and ਨਗੰਦੇ .Apart from this, he has written three books for children. These are titled - ਸੱਤ ਪਰੀਆਂ, ਸਫੈਦ ਪਰੀ ਤੇ ਪੰਛੀ, and ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੈਂਤ.He has received the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for his short story publication - 'Aas Aje Baaqi Hai'.
